COMENZE 1st Training School 2026

Workshop on Multiscale Computational Modeling and Design of Polymer-Degrading Enzymes

9–12 March 2026 | Girona, Costa Brava

From 9 to 12 March 2026, the COMENZE Doctoral Network will hold its first Training School in the beautiful coastal town of Platja d’Aro (Costa Brava, Spain), hosted at the Park Hotel San Jorge. This key event marks an important step in the COMENZE journey, bringing together young researchers, academic experts, and industry professionals for a week of intensive training and scientific exchange.

A total of 50 participants will join the event:

COMENZE Training School FI
  • 10 Doctoral Candidates from the COMENZE Network
  • 10 Supervisors from across the partner institutions

  • 18 external students interested in enzyme engineering
  • 9 invited speakers, covering both academic and industrial perspectives

The scientific programme will focus on advanced computational enzyme design, supporting the interdisciplinary research at the core of COMENZE. Sessions will cover a range of key topics, including:

  • Computational Modeling of enzymatic systems
  • Role of protein dynamics and water in enzyme catalysis
  • Computational investigation of protein-ligand interactions and enzyme design tools

Invited Speakers
