COMENZE reaches key milestone
with Mid-Term Meeting
Presentations, exchange and valuable feedback across the COMENZE network

On 13 March 2026, the COMENZE Doctoral Network held its Mid-Term Meeting in Platja d’Aro (Costa Brava, Spain), with the participation of Agnieszka Krzysztofowicz, Project Officer from the European Research Executive Agency (REA).
The meeting marked an important milestone for the project, bringing together doctoral candidates, supervisors, and partners to present and review the progress achieved during the first phase of COMENZE.
During the meeting, project coordinator Lígia O. Martins presented the overall status of the project, followed by introductions from the supervisors and their respective research projects. The doctoral candidates also presented themselves, outlining their background, development plans, and research goals. These sessions provided a comprehensive overview of the scientific direction of the network and the individual contributions of each doctoral project.
Dedicated discussions with the REA Project Officer offered valuable space for direct exchange, allowing the consortium to reflect on achievements, address key topics, and further align on the next steps of the project.
The feedback received from the REA was very positive, confirming that COMENZE is progressing well and successfully meeting its objectives under the Horizon Europe MSCA programme.
Beyond the formal review, the meeting also fostered valuable exchange between all participants. The in-person setting created opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and strengthening connections across the network – supporting both the scientific progress of the project and the development of the doctoral candidates.
