COMENZE is Taking Off: First Meeting Set for October
With the successful completion of our competitive selection process, we are excited to announce the official Kick-off Meeting of the COMENZE project, taking place on 2–3 October 2025 at ITQB NOVA in Oeiras, Portugal.
This meeting marks the beginning of our shared journey to advance enzyme engineering for sustainable polymer design and recycling. It also provides the first opportunity for our consortium partners and the newly selected doctoral researchers to meet in person, setting the stage for collaboration, shared learning, and scientific exchange.
The response to our call was truly remarkable:

A look at what’s planned
Over the two days, participants will align on scientific and training objectives, discuss communication and project management, and build connections that will fuel collaboration across institutions and disciplines. The meeting will include presentations, planning sessions, and informal networking opportunities—all designed to launch COMENZE with clarity, energy, and a strong sense of community.
